The new semester is here and Creativity Engineering started into its TEAM FINDING PHASE traditionally on its online forums. This year we also offered a Saturday TEAM MEETING SPACE event – live and old fashioned but much easier to talk to each other, groups were born and ideas connected to people or vice versa.

Virqual beschäftigt sich damit, wie dies in den nationalen Rahmenbedingungen, den NQF, sowie dem darüber stehenden Meta-Framework, den EQF, berücksichtigt und implementiert wird. Lifelong Learning is a term that encompasses a lot. Lifelong Learning has effects on different areas and on different levels. This complex topic is in the focus of our third WEBINAR. Virqual researches how this is integrated into the national framework, the NQF, and in the European meta-framework, the EQF. The recording of the WEBINARs can be found here.

E-Learning Definitions – oder Was bedeutet e-Learning denn jetzt wirklich in der Praxis?

The term e-learning refers to the use of ICT to enhance and/or support learning in education. Following kinds of online presence can be distinguished:

– None or trivial online presence
– Web supplemented: course outline, links, materials, date are online
– Web dependent: requirement to use the Internet for key active elements but no significant reduction in classroom time
– Mixed mode: requirement of participation in online activities as discussions, assessment, collaborative work – replacing face-to-face teaching/learning. Significant campus attendance remains.
– Fully online

Der Begriff e-learning bezieht sich auf den Einsatz von Internet und Kommunikationstechnologien in der Lehre mit dem Zweck das Lernen zu vertiefen und/oder zu unterstützen. Es werden folgende Formen unterschieden:

– Keine oder trviale Online Präsenz des Kurses oder der Lehrveranstaltung
– Web unterstützt
Kursprogramm, Links, Materialien, Terminplan sind online verfügbar
– Web abhängig
Die Verwendung des Internets ist Teil der Lehrveranstaltung, aber reduziert die geforderten Anwesenheitszeiten im Klassenzimmer nicht signifikant.
– Gemischte Form: Blended Learning
Es besteht die Anforderung zur Teilnahme an online Aktivitäten wie Diskussionen, Tests, gemeinsame Arbeiten, die das Lehren und Lernen von Angesicht zu Angesicht ersetzen. Die Anwesenheit am Campus wird durch online Arbeiten signifikant ersetzt.

Der Bericht über den Status der Aktivitäten der EU Ländern im Bereich e-Learning und EQF wurde in Form einer klickbaren Landkarte präsentiert.

Netzwerken und Informationen verteilen stand am Programm. Da das Thema Virtuelle Mobilität viele Bereiche anspricht, wir mit vielen verschiedenen Experten arbeiten und das auch noch verteilt auf verschiedene geographische Regionen, war die Kommunikation teilweise sehr ineffizient und verbesserungswürdig. Gemeinesam mit der Technischen Universität Wien unterbreiteten wir einen Vorschlag zur Verbesserung der Prozesse.

Dissemination activities dominated the project work and first steps for network building took place. Due to the highly complex subject and the distributed partner network work process inefficiencies lead us to create a proposal for process streamlining together with the Vienna University of Technology.

Virqual Status Report
Die Erfahrung mit dem Blended Learning Kurs Ecodesign wurde analysiert und als Case Study dokumentiert. Um die Case Studies aller Partner besser vergleichen zu können und Unterschiede sowie Gemeinsamkeiten schneller sichtbar werden zu lassen, erstellten wir einen integrierten Case Study Bericht. Zudem schlugen wir eine strukturierte Kommentierung für Dokumente vor, die von Partner in ihrer Recherchen verwendet wurden.

The case study Ecodesign (a blended learning course) was analyzed in relation to the project. Kulturimpuls created an integrated case study report analyzing all case studies for their prime parameters, relevance for the project and conclusion. We proposed a structured commentary for all documents used in research by all partners.

Virqual Status Report
Wir starteten ins Virqual Projekt mit Recherchen und konzentrierten uns dabei auf mehrere Themenbereiche: Bewertungssysteme (ECTS Punkte), online Programme, online Test und Bewertung und das Thema Studentenmobilität und virtuelle Mobilität in der Praxis. Unser Vorschlag zur Erschaffung eines Glossars für die Begriffe und Fachausdrücke im Themenbereich zur Vereinfachung der Kommunikation wurde angenommen.

Starting the Virqual project with intensive research activities concentrated on several topics, as for instance credit system, case study search for online programs, online assessment and the topic student mobility and actual virtual mobility. The creation of a terminology guide was started to facilitate communication.
