Seit ein paar Monaten habe die Ehre und Möglichkeit, mit 3 musikalischen Künstlern und sehr interessanten Individuun zu arbeiten.

Es entsteht ein Projekt … das junge Talente fördern wird. Das Komponistentrio macht das heute schon, möchte die jungen Stimmen so richtig zur Geltung kommen lassen.

Ein Projekt auf die Beine bringen kostet viel Energie, … es gibt immer wieder Rückschläge, vor allem wenn es anfänglich keinen direkten Rückfluss für die investierte Arbeit gibt.

Doch ehrenamtliche Leistungen sind die Basis unserer Gesellschaft und der Anfang vieler Erfolgsgeschichten. Projekte werden erwachsen und stark, sie werden ausgezeichnet, wenn ein Tiefpunkt auch überwunden werden kann.

An so einem Tiefpunkt – auf den Wind warten … helfen die 15:24 Minuten mit Adam Grant, zu verstehen, wie solche “Original thinkers”, wie Ihr selbst seid, funktionieren …

 

Die Frühling ist da und bringt neue Energie …

My Austrian experience

OFF TO A NEW PLACE

I traveled to Vienna, Austria in July, 2012 with a heavy heart and with a purpose that seemed more important to me than continuing my job in my home land.
I was sent to coordinate a project that my company executed for an Austrian company. My company had booked my accommodation and I was living in a hotel close to the new office.

The day I arrived in Vienna, it was a dull day with grey clouds and rain. It seemed that they were representative of my life at that point in time and it will remain this grey for the rest of my time in Vienna. The hotel staff hardly spoke any English and apparently, I did not know a single word of German. But, they spoke to me in English with a unique accent and since I have had experience of interacting with people from different nations before, I could manage to understand their part of conversation. But, when it came to my turn to speak in English, the hotel staff would look at me disgusted as if I have just lost my way from the planet Mars and accidentally landed in front of their hotel and requesting them for directions to my planet again. My English is actually not that bad and the very purpose why my company sent me as a coordinator is that I had good communications skills.  The hotel staff was often rude except for one employee, who was the only relief for me in that place. The fact that the receptionist offered me cold water when I complained about the hot weather in July must tell you something about their hospitality. I at least deserved a fan for the 90 Euros I paid daily for the entire month. More about my stay, later.

The first day I entered the office in Vienna, I was greeted well by the manager and was waiting for the engineer with whom I would have to work daily for the project. He arrived at about 9

When, I arrived there were no colleagues whom I recognize in the new office. I did not have any friends that I knew in Vienna at that time. I was all on my own.

Creativity Engineering started @Team Meeting Space

The new semester is here and Creativity Engineering started into its TEAM FINDING PHASE traditionally on its online forums. This year we also offered a Saturday TEAM MEETING SPACE event – live and old fashioned but much easier to talk to each other, groups were born and ideas connected to people or vice versa.

War for Talents

Qualified and competent talents are missing everywhere

Instead of job portals where huge numbers of applications have to be filtered and HR and talent recruiters overflown with resumes from around the globe, not really knowing how to filter this data, Atlassian, a company from Australia started it’s “Europe, We’re Coming to Steal Your Geeks” campaign.

What lead to this decision: due to a limited supply of software developers in Australia they decided to look for programming talent in Europe. They decked out a bus, conducted interviews and hosted informational meetups at local coffee shops and pubs – all with the purpose of luring highly skilled developers back to Australia’s ‘Silicon Beach’ with a job at Atlassian and an all-expenses-paid relocation package to Sydney.

Does that mean that we have enough skilled talent in Europe?

No, it does not.

Talent and culture are the key drivers of future success. A company needs to find incredible people who feel passionate about what they do and therefore can create a culture where people feel they can deliver the best work of their careers.

Internet ist nicht einfach immer da. Dafür braucht es Geräte, die den Datenverkehr regeln und Menschen, die diese Geräte bauen, verkaufen, installieren und dann am Laufen halten. Der Gerätehersteller Cisco baut diese Strassen des Internets! Keine Email, kein Chatten, kein Facebook kein Skype wäre ohne Cisco Produkte möglich.

Am 25. April, dem Girls Day 2013, lädt das CISCO Büro in Wien Sie und Ihre Klasse ein, Kommunikationstechnologie in Aktion zu sehen und die Technologie des Internets bei uns hautnah kennenzulernen.

Es erwartet Sie und Ihre Klasse ein Einblick in die Arbeit in einem Unternehmen, das Geräte und Apps anbietet, die das Internet zum Laufen bringen. Es gibt die Möglichkeit, verschiedene Workshops zu den Themen “Sicher im Netz”, “Soziale Netze” und “PC-Technik” zu besuchen, wo man selbst aktiv ist.

You can get an inside view into a company providing equipment and apps that keep the Internet running. There are possibilities to join small workshops about topics like “Secure in the network”, “Social networks” and “How does my PC look from inside“ where you are actively involved.

Internet n’existe pas de son propre fait. Pour cela il faut de l’équipement qui permet de réguler les transferts de données et favorise l’accès aux personnes qui développent, construisent, vendent, installent et utilisent cet équipement. CISCO est une de ces entreprises qui construit ces autoroutes de l’internet. Sans les produits et services CISCO il n’y aurait pas d’email, de chat, de Facebook ou de Skype possible.

Le 25 avril 2013, lors de la Journée internationale des jeunes filles dans le secteur des TIC, nous vous invitons vous et votre classe à venir dans nos bureaux de de Zurich, Rolle ainsi qu’à l’EFPL de Lausanne afin que vous puissiez expérimenter les technologies de la communication en action et voir de manière concrète quelles sont les technologies derrière l’utilisation courante d’internet.

Vous aurez ainsi l’opportunité de voir de l’intérieur le travail d’une entreprise qui fournit des équipements et des applications qui font marcher internet. Vous aurez la possibilité de prendre part de manière participative à de petits ateliers sur des sujets comme « les réseaux sociaux », « à quoi ressemble mon PC de l’intérieur ».

Nous attendons avec impatience votre réponse et la possibilité de discuter plus activement les détails de votre visite directement avec vous.

Many centuries ago great architects were also engineers, philosophers and writers. So interdisciplinarity is not a new concept. Today new technologies and ICT tools open up a broad field of ways of how to innovate and make life better for all. We depend on creative and innovative people to sustain and develop our economy to fulfill the needs of our society.

The Course CREATIVITY ENGINEERING offers participants a chance to learn about their creative potential, understand about the implementation of ideas in a market environment and check how things work out when trying to make an idea become reality in a multidisciplinary team from different cultural backgrounds.

It is my vision to make Creativity Engineering a step forward and make it an event that takes place with partners in different locations on the globe. I am looking for people sharing this vision in universities and companies.
