Wishing you inspiring conversations

Posted by jjerlich on 28. May 2017

I remember my first trip to Sweden, excited to meet the Scandinavian community of high class educators: IT educators at schools and universities crossing all knowledge levels and ages learning about cutting edge technology for our (increasingly) smart societies.

goodVibes Stockholm

I very much enjoyed the vibrant climate and inspirational conversations with nice, competent and young students as well as their teachers. I would go again any time.

The coming days Kane Minkus is coming your way,

Har du koll på Kane?

This foto shows Kane the way I know him: open, direct, full of humor and respectful and in this combination a very inspiring and motivating individual.

He helps business owner and want-to-be business owners to

  • become clear about what they are best at,
  • become more visible and credible,
  • build their personal brand
  • … ultimately grow their businesses and themselves.

It is great to work with him, not only inspired me but catapulted me to a new point in life. I am happy that you have the chance to personally meet him next week as well.

You will find more details when you check out the registration page for his FREE event below.

Will I meet you in the Community of Holistic Entrepreneurs and Business Owners?

Here are the dates and times – just click on the pic or your city and sign up for the FREE event.

Clicking on the below schedule will also take you to the registration form.

All the best

FUN.Basel Vol III @Fluxdock

Posted by jjerlich on 29. August 2016

FUN Basel eingeladen im Fluxdock // FUN Basel invited to Fluxdock

AFun_basel at Fluxdockfter the first Fuckup Night in Basel we were approached by Elias Schäfer, CEO and Member of the Board at FLUXDOCK AG, who read the article about it in Basler Zeitung. He invited us to bring the Fuckup Nights Basel to Fluxdock.

What is Fluxdock?

It is a place where interdisciplinary teams can collaborate, realize concrete ideas using technology and the Fluxdock network to multiply the intended impact.

The crucial objective is to collaborate across company borders, break down barriers and bring ideas with high level of innovation to project maturity within the short time frame of only one or two weeks.

– – –    The Innovation Department for your company    – – –

A great offer and a real match:

My Creativity Engineering program at the Vienna University of Technology trains engineers to develop their creative confidence. It offers a collaboration space and simulation environment to present their ideas, create or find a team collaborating across disciplines to grow their ideas into products and services.

The Challenge

Being able to speak about errors and mistakes – that happen when new things are being created – openly is key. “Fail fast, fail often, learn quickly” is certainly a useful approach that speeds up creation and development.

Join us for the

FB Sept

We are looking forward to welcome our speakers

  • Asitta Tabatabai – Inspiring Coach, Trainer and Mediator
  • Daniel Jordi – Creator of The ChangeMakers Hub & LinkedREvolution

Start of the 2014 Creativity Engineering class

Posted by juttajerlich on 1. October 2014

October 1st is the day when the Creativity Engineering class starts every year. This one is the 8th time. The registrations for the class have been growing since the first time the class was offered. This year we received almost 250.  Thank you for your overwhelming interest.

Students interested come from various backgrounds and study focuses with national backgrounds from all over the European Union and a few from beyond.

The first phase is the IDEA and TEAM FINDING phase where people present ideas they would like to develop and find team members who want to join them on this path. This year we are running a pilot to check out if the use of the MakerSquare platform is useful for us.

Makersqr

Why do I decide to do this? I wanted to see how the this statement
“By bringing together teams of passionate, curious, like-minded people and enabling crowd-sourcing of under-utilized resources, we aim to create new paths towards innovation, discovery, and entrepreneurship.”
taken from the MakerSquare “What we do” page does really apply to reality.

The best is that feedback from all participants will be fed back to the MakerSquare developers team.

Excited to see how this will work out. A new adventure and twist to our pathway!

I am happy to have had Martin Asmus on my side to support such a large group of participants every year. Thank you very much, Martin.
This year I found another supporter, Carina Müller, who will be supporting the pilot with me.

All the best for the course, have fun in what you do!

Stärker als man denkt

Posted by juttajerlich on 9. February 2014

Just do it !

Times change but some things always stay the same

Posted by juttajerlich on 5. December 2013

empathyIt seems to me, more often than before, that essential life lessons a human being has to learn have not changed through the years, even though our environment and practical gadgets we are surrounded with do change at a very fast pace.

I just came across Roman Krznaric, an Australian cultural thinker and co-founder of The School of Life in London and his new book “How Should We Live? Great Ideas from the Past for Everyday Life”.

He speaks about Leo Tolstoy and what he began writing 150 years ago. Most people think of him as one of the 19th century’s greatest novelists. Few are aware that he was also one of its most radical social and political thinkers. During a long life from 1828 to 1910, Tolstoy gradually rejected the received beliefs of his aristocratic background and embraced a startlingly unconventional worldview that shocked his peers. Tracing his personal transformation offers some wise — and surprising — lessons for how we should approach the art of living today.

Lesson 1: Keep an Open Mind

Lesson 2: Practice Empathy

Lesson 3: Make a Difference

Lesson 4: Master the Art of Simple Living

Lesson 5: Beware Your Contradictions

Lesson 6: Expand Your Social Circle

Sounds familiar ?
This is definitely something that has not changed since then – the same lessons are still valid for today.
Maybe this is a general recipe for rethinking life?
